Charge
- Develop criteria for a desirable hub site. All should
agree upon these before any sites are formally proposed.
These could include proximity to workforce, high level of
service of roads, reasonable development costs, clear-cut
environmental permitting, proximity to business support
services, synergy with local development and land use plans,
relevance to particular cluster, how quickly it could be
certified under the Certified Industrial Site program, etc.
- Write an RFP for KTCG to solicit proposals of sites to
be considered from each participating community. These should
include the data on each evaluation criterion as well as
any sales pitch the community wants to make.
- Consider each proposed site against the site evaluation
criteria. Have task force members independently rank each
site on each criterion. Submit rankings to neutral party
(KTCG?) to summarize results, then meet again to review
these.
- Make final recommendation of a preferred site and a backup
site to the full exploratory committee.
